Chris Lamb, Founder & Managing Director
“Optima was founded to help our clients with their challenges in complex systems development. Whilst the early days took a leap of faith to begin, I always knew what type of business we needed to build for it to succeed and thrive in what was already a difficult market. Having the right team to share the journey is crucial, with an ethos about strong delivery for our clients, and an internal culture based on openness, respect and support. I am delighted that so many talented people share the view about the importance of these things and have become my colleagues at Optima, making it feel like quite a special place. I believe part of that comes from both the level of experience in the team and the thirst for growing knowledge and sharing best practice, developing careers strongly. Equally, the drive to also put back into wider society through involvement with professional bodies, charities, STEM and more besides makes for a rich professional home for our people.
So, at 10 years we can truly celebrate the business that we’ve made together, as there are many achievements of which we are justly proud of. Optima today is recognised and respected as a leading Systems Consultancy across multiple sectors – a trusted ally that responds swiftly, tackles difficult problems with the client’s best interests at heart, able to see the big picture and strive to achieve a joined-up systems approach when others find that daunting. We’ve done much to promote the Systems Engineering discipline, including influence on government policy and a range of STEM initiatives. We have a commendable record on charitable giving, mental health and wider well-being, and are prominent in improving Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in the wider engineering profession.
Whilst appreciating how far we’ve come, I’m sure the next 10 years will be just as exciting, challenging and rewarding. I look forward to sharing that journey with our team and those who will join us along the way…”
